Tenure track and non-tenure track positions in systems engineering In response to growing Navy demands for systems engineering education and research, the Naval Postgraduate School is expanding its systems engineering programs. We are searching for faculty to fill positions beginning in the summer of 2008 in Monterey and at a variety of locations across the United States, including Washington, DC; Paxtuxent River, MD; Dahlgren, VA; Ventura, CA; San Diego, CA; and other sites. We have multiple tenure track positions available. For these positions, we require a terminal degree in systems engineering or a closely aligned field. We seek faculty with expertise in systems and/or systems-of-systems engineering in one or more of the following sub-disciplines/domains: capabilities engineering, requirements engineering, combat systems integration, ship systems engineering, net-centric systems engineering and integration, aviation systems integration, cost engineering, human systems engineering, engineering management, engineering risk management, engineering test and evaluation, reliability engineering, and system modeling and assessment. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate one or more of the following attributes: experience with Naval systems engineering, aviation systems experience, experience within the Defense Acquisition environment, excellent teaching references, or a demonstrated research capability. Depending on qualifications, successful candidates may be appointed at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank. We have multiple non-tenure track positions available, both full time and part-time. We require a graduate degree in an engineering discipline and 10 years or more experience working as a systems engineer in a defense position, either in government or industry. We seek faculty with expertise in one or more of the following sub-disciplines: capabilities engineering, requirements engineering, combat systems integration, ship systems engineering, aviation systems integration, cost engineering, human systems engineering, engineering management, engineering risk management, engineering test and evaluation, reliability engineering, and system modeling and assessment. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate one or more of the following attributes: experience with Naval systems engineering, aviation systems experience, DAWIA SPRDE level 3, experience within the Defense Acquisition environment, excellent teaching references, or a demonstrated research capability. Depending upon qualifications, successful candidates may be appointed at the professor of practice, senior lecturer, or lecturer rank.
